We treat our friends with the utmost respect, we love them, care for them, tell them everything will be ok when they feel their world is turning upside down.
But how often do you
treat yourself the same way?
If your best friend came to you and told you about mistake she or he had made… would you get angry and tell them they are stupid?
If your best friend came to you and said that they are feeling a little run down and stressed.. would you tell them to get it together and push through?
If they were feeling sad and just wanted a few moments to break down… would you let them?
Now when you yourself are going through the same things.. how do you speak to yourself?
If you are not being your own best friend, then you need to be!
There is absolutely no reason for you not to treat yourself with kindness, care, love and respect. I don’t want to hear any ‘buts’, it’s just the way it is.
So next time you make a mistake, are feeling a little run down or like you are about to fall apart.. be your own best friend.
NB: it’s one hell of an important thing you can teach your children as well.
