I bet you have heard that phrase going around… (such and such) is a superfood!
Im going to breakdown 7 of the most popular super foods and tell you just how awesome nature is at keeping us functioning at our very best.
But first of all: What IS a superfood and why are they so dam
n good for us?
“Superfood” is a name given to a food found in nature which is absolutely saturated with vitamins & minerals. They are in a natural, whole form which the body completely identifies with, which makes all those delicious nutrients easily digestible and usable for every one of our cells. Which is why they make us feel just SUPER!
When we are so often devoid of nutrients in the food grown in todays society, these foods help bring us back to optimum health by balancing our entire system – gut, liver, immune and endocrine and are a great source of sustainable and usable energy.
The SUPER LIST!
- Goji and Acai Berries
These yummy fruity pops of flavour are powerful sources of antioxidants (which fight toxic free radicals caused by metabolic processes, external toxins & emotional stress).
Goji berries in particular, are super rich in vitamin C and are a complete protein source. They contain 18 different amino acids, including all 8 essential ones!
- Super Greens – Spirulina & Chlorella
While not always the tastiest of foods, the super greens are one of the best and essential super foods for every body. They are awesome alkalisers – leading to more energy, loss of weight and decreased inflammation.
