In this one day workshop I will walk you through:
- How to work with newborns, babies, toddlers, children and teens – how to muscle test, how to create rapport, how to treat them & how to work with the whole family!
- The most common reasons for treatment – anxiety, behaviour and health- and how I treat these conditions.
- The emotional, mental and physical developmental stages for each age group.
- The admin side – legalities, reports and working with other practitioners in times of critical need.
There is going to be so much information in a short amount of time, but I will make sure you walk away feeling equipped and comfortable to apply your knowledge in clinic.
Why do I know so much about children?
I’m a mum of one with one on the way.
In my early kinesiology career I chose supplementary jobs to support my business that were child based – nannying, childcare, disability support – all so that I could gain an understanding of children, their needs and the needs of the families.
In practice, my first client was a child, then I saw his sister and his whole family – from there my path with children flourished.
At least half of my practice is dedicated to treating children (and many of the adult sessions are their parents!).
To name a few of the reasons parents bring their children in to see me – anxiety, ADHD, ODD, OCD, learning difficulties, developmental delays, allergies, eczema, gut disturbances, bedwetting, behavioural issues, tics & mental health.
Why would I want to work with children?
To tell you the truth, when I very first started out, working with kids was last on my list – it was not a natural draw card for me.
Then unexpectedly, I was invited straight out of college to work for Ondrej in his clinic for learning difficulties – with that my path was set. Something inside me settled into place and I just loved helping these little humans smile!
Many of my most amazing moments in clinic have been from connecting to children and their wisdom.
These little souls have so much love to give in this overwhelming world..to help them feel comfortable in their skin, in their environment and to help their families understand them is the reason I love going to work after all these years!
On the CCM support forums I hear many of you ask for help with children, and I realised that it’s one of those areas that people may like more training in. That’s why I created this workshop.
I would love for you to walk out feeling comfortable to saying YES every time someone would like to trust you with the health of their child.
