There are times when our thoughts seem to be going round and round.. our chest feels like it’s not breathing properly.. we feel angry, upset, we feel like crying at the drop of a hat and we just want to curl up in a ball.. perhaps forever.
You are not alone.
Sometimes our feelings don’t make any sense.. this makes our ego or our mind go a little loopy for a while. But
because we can’t make heads nor tails of our feelings, they don’t move, we get frustrated and things seem to spiral downwards.
At this time it is so important that we allow our emotions to do their thing in a supportive environment.
You don’t need to understand them, just let them free.
I liken it to being dumped by a wave, you may feel like when your under water that you may never get out, sometimes each time we pop our heads up, we get dumped again. But eventually the set of waves take a break and we reach the surface and see the blue sky above. We are ok.
If you find yourself being battered by your emotions, recognise they are trying to find a way out and just let them. Write, draw, dance, exercise, talk, cry, write an angry letter (dont send it).. anything you can think of.
And always remember there are always people there ready to listen and give you a hug.
